Why We Need You

IPSF is playing a greater role in our school funding than at any time in our history. As a result of the state's budget crisis, IUSD has made more than $38 million in budget reductions since April 2009. With your donations, we can continue to meet the needs of our children for the years to come.

HOW $38M CUTS AFFECT OUR SCHOOLS

To bridge the district’s gap between revenue and expenditures, school board members voted to approve a number of measures since 2009 including:
  • Four district-wide furlough days for 2009-10;
  • Eight district-wide furlough days for 2010-11; (later reduced to 4)
  • Increased class-sizes in Grades 1-3 and 9;
  • Reductions at the District Office level;
  • Reallocation of categorical dollars from programs that are now flexible as a result of recent legislation; as well as the use of onetime dollars.
